I start by evaluating the parent category and then niche down from the top level to find solid opportunities. The first thing I focus on is the price point—I usually aim for products that can sell for at least $30–$35. This range helps ensure there’s enough profit margin to cover ads, shipping, and still leave room for solid returns. Once I find a promising niche, I dig into demand, competition, and potential for branding or differentiation.

Sourcing Strategy

looking at the parent category and then narrow it down from the top level to more specific niches. The first thing I focus on is the price point—ideally, I look for products that can sell for at least $30–$35 so there’s enough room for profit after costs like ads and shipping.

Next, I look at the nature of the product—this helps me figure out what kind of market or audience it fits into and how I should position it. The goal is always to find a product that makes sense as a private label item, so I can build a brand around it and stand out from the competition.

finding the main market keyword. The easiest way is to go to the main search bar (like on Amazon or Google) and start typing in a keyword related to the product. The first suggestion that pops up is usually the main keyword people are searching for.

I also use tools like Helium 10, which clearly shows the most searched and relevant keywords for that product. That way, I can target high-traffic terms that are actually being used by real buyers.

People check out reviews and product design, but what really matters is finding products with high sales but not too many reviews. I look for sellers who have under 100 reviews but are still selling around 200 units at a good price. That means the product’s popular, but there’s still room to stand out.

How Do sellers Buy?

Say we’re aiming for $10K a month. If the product sells for $35, we’d need to move about 300 units a month. If it’s $50, then selling around 200 units hits the goal.

Then, I narrow down the best niches by looking for three things:

  1. Prices that stay steady

  2. Products that don’t need tons of reviews to sell

  3. High demand — stuff people are actually buying
